HOT-AIR BALLOON
SAFARI
Follow the magnificent African wildlife from above
Enjoy a bird’s eye view over the famous Serengeti, and follow the magnificent African wildlife from above! This is probably the best place in the world to make a ride in a hot-air balloon, as we can even help you plan to see the Great Migration from up in the air.
Lift off is at sunrise after which you gently fly over the endless plains of the Serengeti. The hot air balloon will float at treetop height above the baobab and acacia trees, which gives you a magnificent bird’s eye view of the animals below. You quietly watch the wildlife from above while being in total peace and enjoying breathtaking panoramic views.

Breakfast on the African savannah

Depending on conditions, the flight will take about an hour. After landing, you can enjoy an ‘Out of Africa’ breakfast with wine or champagne on the savannah.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do balloon safaris always go ahead?
There is 95% chance that your balloon flight will actually take place on the scheduled time. Only if the winds are too strong or the weather is really bad, it might be canceled. If this is the case, we will book you for the next day if you schedule allows for it. If not we will arrange for your refund.

How many people fit on one balloon?
Balloons come in different sizes, with different size baskets. The largest balloons carry up to 16 passengers. No matter which size, we always make sure that every single passengers has a place at the railing, and can enjoy a good view.

Are balloon safaris possible all year round?
Yes, they are. In central Serengeti we can book a balloon safari on any day of the year. In Northern Serengeti, Ndutu and Tarangire balloon safaris are only possible in certain months (depending for example on the Great Migration). Please inquire about the possibilities for the dates that you will be traveling and we will make our best to accommodate your wishes to have this once in a lifetime experience.
